Springtime Digital Printmaking classes at Creative Arts Workshops start this coming weekend. Sign up if you want to experiment with combining digital printing and traditional media. Using a variety of processes we will combine the precision and control of digital imaging with the unpredictability of painting and printmaking. Do you have stacks of paintings, prints, or drawings on paper that you can use as the starting point for new work? Are you nterested in an alternative, non-toxic printmaking process that you can do at home? Do you want to take your Photoshop skills in a new direction? Check out the course description and sign up! The class sizes are small and I try to work one on one with everyone to develop their unique vision. Still not sure? During the open enrollment period, March 14-20th, you can attend the first session of most CAW class before you sign up, without pre-registering. Just show up for the opening session at 1:30p on March 20th to find out more about the class and see examples of hybrid digital prints.
Thanks to everyone who took my Winter session class at the Creative Arts Workshop. We had a lot of students and the majority were traditional printmakers (if there is such a thing). Many in the class digitally printed, scanned or photographed images onto prepared surfaces, like cyanotypes, watercolor paintings, drawings, carborundum prints and collaged surfaces
You can see more amazing, diverse work from Creative Arts Workshop at the CAW Student Show that opens this Sunday, March 20th 2-4p, at 80 Audubon St, New Haven, CT. The exhibition features work that has been created in CAW classes and workshops including book arts, drawing, painting, fiber, photography, pottery, printmaking, and sculpture. The opening takes place during my class so stop by the Photo studio and say hello if you are attending!
